Converting an Image to Text

Have you ever found a picture and wished that you could copy the text off
it rather than retyping it?

Well now there is a website to help you do just that!

i2OCR is a free site that allows you to extract text from a document image.
It supports TIF, JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF, PBM, PGM, PPM images
 as well as multi-column documents

Here's how it works.
Below is a saved image of a quote I really like found here.

I'd like to use the quote for something else.
Rather than retyping the entire thing, I simple go to i2OCR.
Choose the file, make sure English is chosen, and click Convert.
In a few short moments you will see the words from the image.
You can then copy and paste them or download a copy of the words.

I have noticed that it doesn't always recognize script fonts but other
than that it seems to work very well.
What a great tool!
