The Game of Pig is one that my students used to love to play and was one I used
when I had a few minutes at the end of a class period.
It's a simple game that takes no set up, only takes dice to play,
and practices both addition and probability.
Mathwire has some great explanations and
charts here to use when playing the game.
There is also now a Pig Dice app
that would be great to use in the classroom!
Here are the rules:
Two players race to reach 100 points.
Each turn, a player repeatedly rolls a die until either a 1
is rolled or the player holds and scores the sum of the rolls
(that is, the turn total).
I've posted some other great apps here- both free and paid.
