The Count Us IN site has 15 fun games to help children understand basic number concepts! These activities would be great for centers/stations/tubs or whole group.
Below is a description of each game:
GAME 1 - Sheep Counting
Objective: The player has to move the sheep from left to right until there are the same number of sheep in each paddock.There are lots of different ways the player can do this, over and over again.
GAME 2 - Patterning
Objective: The player has to create patterns using the objects in the bookshelf. The patterns can be made any where in the room.There are lots of different ways the player can do this, over and over again. Working in pairs or with a carer or teacher children can describe the patterns according to a variety of characteristics.
GAME 3 - Counting
Objective: The player has to count the objects on the screen, then enter the number in either numerical and/or in word format.The objects are randomly placed on the screen and randomly choosen, so the game can be played over and over again.
GAME 4 - Ordinal Number
Objective: The player has to move the children in correct order into roller coaster cars.
The numbers are in random order and there is a random number of children.
GAME 5 - Representing Number
Objective: The player has to move a feather with a number of objects to the correct corresponding text number. The numbers and objects are in random order.
GAME 6 - Representing Number
Objective: The player has to move a crayon with a word number to the corresponding digit on a colour by number of Flying Girl. The numbers and colours are in random order.
GAME 7 - Addition
Objective: There is a picture of a double decker bus with children standing alongside. The bus has windows on each level. The Player moves the children onto the bus to make the number that is displayed on the top of the screen.The number of the bus is random, and the children an be placed in any order.
GAME 8 - Subtraction
Objective: The player has to subtract two numbers to bowls a ball down a bowling alley lane. They continue until they have reached zero pins remaining.The starting equation is random, and there is a chance of getting a strike as well.
GAME 9 - Sorting and Grouping
Objective: The player selects and moves objects around the screen grouping and sorting them in different ways. The sorting is random, and this game requires interaction with other people.
GAME 10 - Time
Objective: The player find matching cards with both analogue and digital times.
GAME 11 - Numbers
Objective: The player has to move a frog across a pond always using the next highest number.
GAME 12 - Chance
Objective: The player has to guess which box contains the surprise star.
GAME 13 - Halves
Objective: The player has to match the halves of images.
GAME 14 - Length
Objective: The player has to sort the height of the players on the field.
GAME 15 - Volume
Objective: The player has to judge the volume of different vessels.
